Ashgabat, July 06, 2025 – The Europe Today: Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, conducted a working visit to Ashgabat on Saturday to inspect the progress of several major healthcare infrastructure projects, according to official Turkmen media.
During the visit, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Baimyrat Annamammedov presented updates on the construction of key facilities, including the future hospital complex of the Myrat Garryev State Medical University. Reviewing the design and development plans, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underscored the need for a comprehensive approach to project implementation. He emphasized ensuring seismic safety standards, the use of high-quality finishing materials, and adherence to modern architectural practices.
The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty also referenced President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s earlier concerns regarding the organization of work at the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry. He reiterated the importance of introducing advanced digital solutions, strengthening international cooperation, and enhancing professional training within the healthcare system.
As part of an aerial inspection of the construction zones in Ashgabat and the second phase of Arkadag City, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proposed the expansion of the university complex infrastructure. His proposal included the establishment of a new Indira Gandhi Medical School, faculty housing, and student dormitories—aiming to create a comprehensive scientific and practical medical cluster to serve the future needs of Turkmenistan’s healthcare and education sectors.
The visit highlights the Turkmen leadership’s continued focus on developing a modern, efficient, and globally integrated healthcare system, in line with the nation’s long-term strategic development goals.
