Tashkent, July 11, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev conducted a working visit to the Chilanzar district of Tashkent, where he reviewed the progress of projects underway in the district’s small industrial zone. The zone, spanning 320 hectares across the Beshqurgon and Tirsakobod mahallas, was established under a Presidential Resolution dated July 3, 2023, to accelerate industrial development and support entrepreneurship.
Since its inception, the industrial zone has witnessed significant infrastructure upgrades, including enhancements in transport, engineering, communication, and road systems, creating favorable conditions for business growth. Today, it is home to 531 enterprises employing nearly 20,000 people. These enterprises collectively have an annual production potential of 6.8 trillion Uzbek soums. Notably, 50 of these enterprises aim to export goods worth $180 million this year—a historic milestone for Chilanzar.
During his visit, the Head of State toured the Tarleplast enterprise, a major facility valued at $25 million. Equipped with 12 types of modern machinery sourced from leading European manufacturers, Tarleplast is capable of producing 90,000 tons of steel pipes and metal profiles annually, with a product value totaling 900 billion UZS. The enterprise currently provides 120 permanent jobs.
President Mirziyoyev was briefed on the company’s achievements, including its export success. Last year alone, Tarleplast exported $4 million worth of goods to markets in Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. The company plans to further expand its export reach. The President was also shown an exhibition of goods manufactured in the industrial zone and a presentation on upcoming industrial initiatives.
One of the key future projects includes the construction of a multi-story production facility and the launch of a mono-center dedicated to skill development and training. These developments are expected to facilitate the implementation of an additional 100 industrial projects and create around 3,000 new jobs.
The upcoming projects will span diverse sectors, including construction materials, pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, printing, automotive production, textile and knitwear manufacturing, and confectionery production.
During his visit, President Mirziyoyev held discussions with local entrepreneurs, offering strategic guidance on enhancing production efficiency, increasing value-added output, fostering employment, and boosting the development of the service sector.
The visit underlines the government’s continued commitment to industrial modernization, economic diversification, and job creation across Uzbekistan’s regions.
