Baku, July 22, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Ilham Aliyev has hailed the Republic of Azerbaijan’s growing international stature and the evolving strength of its national media in a congratulatory message addressed to media representatives on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Azerbaijani national press.
“Today, the Republic of Azerbaijan is a strong state that pursues an independent foreign policy, has gained the status of a political and economic center of the region, and has secured its rightful place in the international system,” President Aliyev stated, underscoring the nation’s achievements on the global stage.
Reflecting on the transformation of the Azerbaijani media landscape, the President noted, “The country’s current development has also increased the authority of the Azerbaijani media in the global information network and enhanced its competitiveness.”
Looking ahead, President Aliyev emphasized the need for continued innovation and resilience in the media sector to ensure its sustained presence in the global information space. He identified key areas for focus in the coming years, including the advancement of media literacy, the adoption of cutting-edge communication technologies, and the enhancement of effective and agile communication strategies.
He also highlighted the importance of increasing engagement on social media platforms, driving digitalization, integrating artificial intelligence, and strengthening efforts to combat disinformation and fake news.
