Abu Dhabi, January 25, 2026 – The Europe Today: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday announced the conclusion of trilateral talks between Ukraine, Russia, and the United States in Abu Dhabi, describing the discussions as “constructive” and indicating that additional meetings could take place “as early as next week.”
Posting on the social media platform X, Zelenskyy said, “Our delegation delivered a report; the meetings in the UAE have concluded. And this was the first format of this kind in quite some time: two days of trilateral meetings. A lot was discussed, and it is important that the conversations were constructive.”
He added that the central focus of the discussions was exploring possible parameters for ending the war, emphasizing the importance of American monitoring and oversight to ensure a genuine and secure resolution. Zelenskyy noted that the US delegation had proposed formats for formalizing the settlement parameters and outlined the security conditions necessary to achieve them.
“All sides agreed to report back in their capitals on each aspect of the negotiations and to coordinate further steps with their leaders,” Zelenskyy said, noting that military representatives had identified a list of issues to be addressed in potential future meetings.
He stressed, “Provided there is readiness to move forward – and Ukraine is ready – further meetings will take place, potentially as early as next week,” adding that he expects a personal briefing from the delegation upon its return.
Zelenskyy also expressed his gratitude to the United Arab Emirates and its president for their mediation efforts and willingness to host further talks, underscoring that “Ukraine is working for peace and security.”
The remarks came following the second day of trilateral discussions, which lasted over three hours. Media reports described the talks as constructive. Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that efforts to resolve the conflict are progressing and highlighted the importance of the so-called “Anchorage formula,” referencing a prior meeting between former US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
