Tehran, February 28, 2026 – The Europe Today: Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that the country’s armed forces were fully prepared for the current situation, describing the conflict as an “illegal and unlawful war” against Iran.
In a statement shared on social media, Araghchi said the war initiated by U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was unjustified and in violation of international law.
“Our military was prepared for this day,” Araghchi said, adding that Iranian forces would teach the aggressor “a lesson it deserves.”
The Iranian foreign minister further criticized Washington’s policies, stating that the “America First” approach had effectively turned into “Israel First,” which he claimed ultimately results in “America Last.”
He also warned that anyone involved in Israeli and U.S. attacks on Iran would be considered a legitimate target by Iranian forces. According to Araghchi, any locations from which Israeli or American strikes are launched against Iran would be treated as lawful military targets.
The remarks come amid escalating tensions in the region following reported strikes and retaliatory actions, raising concerns over a broader confrontation.
