Azerbaijan Relocates 27 Families to Kalbajar Under Great Return Program

Baku, February 28, 2026 – The Europe Today: In accordance with the directives of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan has launched another phase of its Great Return Program, facilitating the relocation of families to the city of Kalbajar.

As part of the latest phase, 27 families comprising a total of 118 individuals have been resettled in Kalbajar, according to official sources.

The Great Return Program is a state-led initiative aimed at restoring and repopulating previously liberated territories, ensuring the safe and dignified return of displaced residents. Authorities have emphasized that the resettlement process is being carried out in line with national development plans and reconstruction efforts in the region.

The relocation to Kalbajar marks a continued step in the government’s broader strategy to revitalize infrastructure, provide essential services, and create sustainable living conditions for returning families.
