Karachi, April 16, 2026 – The Europe Today: The Pakistan Navy on Thursday successfully conducted a live weapon firing of an indigenously developed ship-launched anti-ship missile, demonstrating enhanced operational readiness and precision-strike capability, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations.
The missile accurately engaged its target at high speed and extended range, showcasing advanced performance characteristics. The system incorporates a cutting-edge guidance mechanism and enhanced manoeuvrability, enabling it to evade threats, adapt to dynamic combat environments, and deliver precise and effective strikes.
Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, along with leading scientists and engineers, witnessed the successful launch. The development and testing of the missile highlight the integration of technological innovation with operational expertise.
The ISPR noted that the successful firing underscores the Pakistan Navy’s commitment to maintaining credible sea-based deterrence in the conventional domain and ensuring maritime security and stability in the region.
The country’s leadership, including the president, prime minister, chief of defence forces, and services chiefs, commended the participating units, scientists, and engineers for achieving this significant milestone, reaffirming confidence in Pakistan’s growing indigenous defence capabilities.
