Mexico City, April 20, 2026 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijan and Mexico have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing cooperation in diaspora affairs and strengthening support for their communities living abroad, according to media reports.
The agreement was signed between the State Committee for Work with Diaspora of Azerbaijan and Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Institute of Mexicans Living Abroad during a meeting between Committee Chairman Fuad Muradov and the Institute’s Head Tatiana Clouthier. The signing took place as part of Muradov’s working visit to Mexico.
The memorandum provides for strengthening support for Azerbaijani and Mexican communities overseas, safeguarding their rights and interests, and establishing cooperation mechanisms across various fields.
Under the framework of the agreement, both sides will hold regular consultations, expand the exchange of information and experience, and implement joint projects and training programmes.
Officials said the document is expected to enhance institutional collaboration in diaspora engagement and lay the groundwork for broader future initiatives.
During the meeting, the two sides also discussed their respective approaches to engaging with citizens abroad and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
