Devashtich, July 8, 2026 – The Europe Today: President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon remotely inaugurated 12 multi-purpose development projects in Devashtich district during his working visit to Sughd Province on July 7, as part of preparations for the country’s 35th anniversary of state independence.
The newly commissioned projects span the industrial, education, healthcare, and cultural sectors and are aimed at improving public services, creating employment opportunities, and enhancing the quality of life for local communities.
Among the key projects was the expansion of the Hajmis enterprise, where a new technological production line doubled the factory’s annual brick production capacity from five million to 10 million bricks. The expansion also nearly doubled the workforce to 90 employees.
President Rahmon also inaugurated a sewing and carpet-weaving workshop in the village of Dalyoni Bolo, established with the support of local entrepreneurs. The facility has created 30 permanent jobs and manufactures school uniforms as well as men’s, women’s, and sportswear based on market demand.
The President described the launch of the industrial facilities as an important contribution to the government’s fourth strategic objective of increasing domestic production, reducing reliance on imports, generating employment, and accelerating industrial development.
In the education sector, Rahmon remotely opened four preschool institutions, including two modern kindergartens in Dalyoni Bolo with a combined capacity of 300 children and 50 new jobs. Additional preschool facilities were inaugurated in the villages of Chuyanchi and Darkhon, providing places for 80 and 40 children, respectively, while creating 18 new jobs.
The President instructed education officials to ensure high-quality early childhood education, promote modern knowledge, nurture patriotism, and instill respect and loyalty to the nation among young learners.
Rahmon also inaugurated three new secondary schools in rural communities, including School No. 44 in Dalyoni Poyon with capacity for 640 students in one shift, School No. 28 in Surkhob serving 480 students in two shifts, and School No. 69 in Panjbogh accommodating 350 students in two shifts. Together, the schools have created 140 new jobs.
Officials said the expansion of educational infrastructure reflects the government’s continued emphasis on improving access to quality education throughout the country.
In the healthcare sector, the President remotely commissioned the renovated Health Center No. 7 in the village of Hazorchasma, equipped with modern facilities and advanced medical equipment to improve healthcare services for rural residents.
Rahmon also inaugurated new Houses of Culture in the villages of Khujaho and Mujun. The facilities include concert and assembly halls, modern libraries, and dedicated spaces for cultural and educational activities aimed at preserving national traditions and supporting young talent.
The series of development projects, officials said, is intended to strengthen local infrastructure, expand industrial production, improve education and healthcare services, create employment opportunities, and promote cultural development as Tajikistan prepares to celebrate the 35th anniversary of its independence.
