Islamabad, September 14, 2026 – The Europe Today: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the recent Houthi attacks targeting civilian and economic infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions.
The prime minister expressed these views during a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s strongest condemnation of the attacks and reaffirmed Islamabad’s solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the face of threats to its security and stability.
The two leaders discussed the prevailing regional situation and exchanged views on developments affecting peace and security in the region. Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized the importance of diplomatic engagement and collective efforts to prevent further escalation and promote regional stability.
The prime minister also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to working with Saudi Arabia and other regional partners to support initiatives aimed at de-escalating tensions and promoting peace.
Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and expressed their desire to meet in person in the near future.
The telephone conversation reflects the close and longstanding relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, as well as their shared interest in maintaining regional peace, security and stability.
