Seoul, May 14, 2024, The Europe Today: Commemorating the 300th anniversary of the birth of the esteemed Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi, a series of dedicated events took place in Seoul. The Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea organized an international scientific conference at the mayor’s office of the Yongsan district, according to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry’s press service.
The conference attracted a distinguished audience, including heads of the Secretariat of the Cooperation Forum “Central Asia – the Republic of Korea,” heads of diplomatic missions accredited in the Republic of Korea, scholars, cultural figures, journalists, and students.
Speakers at the conference highlighted the deep cultural and humanitarian ties between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea, emphasizing the significant impact of Magtymguly Fragi’s works, which celebrate peace, patriotism, and the friendship of peoples.
Following the conference, attendees visited an exhibition dedicated to the life and legacy of Magtymguly Fragi. The exhibition featured paintings, editions of Fragi’s works, and displays of Turkmen national culture. Special attention was given to the books authored by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
These events underscored the enduring relevance of Magtymguly Fragi’s contributions to literature and culture, and the strong bilateral relationship between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea.
