Xi’an, September 12, 2024 – The Europe Today: Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, has called for a deepened appreciation of Chinese civilization and the continued transmission of traditional Chinese culture across generations. Xi made these remarks on Tuesday afternoon during his inspection of the Baoji Bronze Ware Museum in Baoji, located in northwest China’s Shaanxi Province.
During the visit, Xi was briefed on the rich history and culture of the Zhou and Qin dynasties (1046-207 BC). He closely examined several cultural relics, including the notable “He Zun,” a bronze ritual wine vessel that contains the earliest known written record of the Chinese characters for “China.”
Xi also received updates on the enhanced preservation, research, and utilization of cultural relics, underscoring the significance of safeguarding China’s historical treasures.
In his address, Xi emphasized the importance of further exploring and studying China’s 5,000 years of civilization. He highlighted the need to communicate its essence and promote the profound wisdom it holds. These efforts, according to Xi, are crucial in fostering a stronger sense of national pride and effectively promoting patriotism.
“The great wisdom of Chinese civilization should be explored, so that the people can cultivate a deeper sense of reverence and pride for our shared heritage,” Xi stated. “This will contribute to the ongoing efforts to promote patriotism and enhance the spirit of the Chinese people.”
Xi’s visit to the Baoji Bronze Ware Museum is part of a broader push by the Chinese government to preserve and promote its cultural legacy, reflecting the nation’s deep connection to its historical roots.
