Beijing, November 4, 2024 – The Europe Today: The crew of China’s Shenzhou-18 mission, comprising astronauts Ye Guangfu, Li Cong, and Li Guangsu, arrived in Beijing on Monday after successfully completing a six-month mission aboard China’s space station.
The Shenzhou-18 return capsule landed at the Dongfeng landing site in Inner Mongolia at 1:24 a.m. (Beijing Time) on Monday. According to the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA), the astronauts exited the capsule by 2:15 a.m., concluding their 192-day stay in orbit in good health.
Following standard post-mission protocol, the crew will undergo a period of medical quarantine and a series of health evaluations to ensure their well-being. The CMSA confirmed that the mission was a success and that the astronauts will meet with the press in Beijing after completing their medical examinations.
This mission marks another milestone for China’s space exploration program, showcasing the continued progress in the country’s space capabilities and scientific research in low Earth orbit.
