Ashgabat, November 19, 2024 – The Europe Today: Turkmenistan and China have taken a significant step to deepen their collaboration in the energy sector by signing a memorandum during the ninth meeting of the Energy Subcommittee of the Turkmen-Chinese Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee. The meeting, held in Ashgabat on Monday, was reported by media.
The memorandum underscores a mutual commitment to expanding joint energy projects, with contributions from experts from both nations. Leading the Chinese delegation was Xinhua Zhang, head of the National Energy Administration of China.
Turkmenistan expressed its readiness to boost natural gas supplies to China, showcasing its plans to modernize the energy sector through innovative technologies and advanced international practices. Both sides emphasized the importance of joint business initiatives as a priority to enhance cooperation in the sector.
As part of this collaboration, the International Oil and Gas University named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev recently signed a five-party Memorandum of Understanding with four Chinese organizations to establish a Lu Ban Workshop in Turkmenistan. This initiative is expected to advance technical training and innovation in the energy field.
The memorandum reflects the strong and evolving partnership between Turkmenistan and China, aiming to achieve sustainable growth and mutual benefits in the energy domain.
