Baku, March 1, 2025 – The Europe Today: The annual “Caspian Basin Studies” program, organized by ADA University’s Continuing Education Program, successfully concluded on February 27. During the graduation ceremony, certificates were awarded to diplomats from 19 countries who have recently commenced their diplomatic missions in Azerbaijan.

The program, which began on February 17, was inaugurated by Dr. Elkin Nurmammadov, ADA University’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, and Aygün Hajiyeva, Head of the Continuing Education Program. They highlighted the university’s new academic offerings, its accomplishments, and its transformation from the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy to ADA University.

While introducing the new phase of the “Caspian Basin Studies” program, they emphasized its key objective—to provide accredited diplomats in Azerbaijan with in-depth knowledge of regional developments, enhance their understanding of the country, and promote Azerbaijan’s global presence. Since its inception, nearly 500 diplomats from 108 countries have participated in this program, which is held multiple times a year.

The program concluded with a roundtable discussion led by Elchin Amirbeyov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan for Special Assignments. His presentation, titled “The Reconstruction of Liberated Garabagh and the Peace-building Process in the Region,” focused on regional security, stability, and ongoing negotiations aimed at sustainable peace. He also addressed various questions from the participants.

Diplomats praised the program for its insightful discussions and thanked ADA University for the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Azerbaijan. They commended the informative sessions conducted by university faculty, senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, and representatives from local think tanks, the State Oil Fund, and BP.

Throughout the program, participants engaged in interactive discussions, explored strategic issues related to Azerbaijan, and exchanged perspectives. Diplomats from Caspian Basin countries, particularly Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, shared regional insights, while participants from the USA, Mexico, Colombia, Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, South Korea, Türkiye, Jordan, and Israel enriched the discussions by contributing their diverse diplomatic experiences.
