Algeria Aims to Boost Trade Volume with Türkiye to $10 Billion

Algiers, April 22, 2025 – The Europe Today: Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Attaf has announced the country’s intention to raise the trade volume with Türkiye to $10 billion, following a high-level meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, in Algiers.

The two foreign ministers co-chaired the third meeting of the Türkiye-Algeria Joint Planning Group on Monday in the Algerian capital. The session marked another step in strengthening bilateral ties under the guidance of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Attaf highlighted the progress made in Türkiye-Algeria relations and noted that the bilateral trade volume had reached a record $6 billion in the previous year. He stressed that this achievement was aligned with the strategic vision of both nations’ leaders and affirmed their shared objective to raise this figure to $10 billion in the near future.

Attaf also underlined the importance of removing barriers that hinder economic cooperation and called for expanded collaboration in key sectors. He noted that Algeria’s economy presents considerable investment opportunities, particularly in renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, and broader bilateral partnerships.

The meeting reaffirmed both countries’ commitment to enhancing strategic cooperation and deepening economic, political, and cultural ties.
