Stockholm, May 23, 2026 – The Europe Today: English football club Chelsea F.C. has reportedly submitted a bid worth $1.6 million (approximately 15 million Swedish kronor) for Swedish striker Felicia Schröder, according to reports by The Athletic.
If completed, the transfer would surpass the current world-record fee in women’s football. The existing record belongs to Lizbeth Jacqueline Ovalle, who was signed by Orlando Pride for $1.5 million.
The 19-year-old Schröder currently plays for Swedish club BK Häcken and enjoyed an impressive season last year, scoring 30 goals in 26 matches in the Swedish women’s league.
Chelsea’s reported move highlights the growing investment and rising transfer values in women’s football worldwide.
