Dushanbe, June 6, 2026 – The Europe Today: A Tajik delegation led by Minister of Economic Development and Trade Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda participated in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2026), where officials underscored efforts to strengthen trade and economic cooperation with Russia.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, the delegation took part in the forum’s opening ceremony, thematic sessions, side events and an international exhibition featuring a wide range of products and services.

SPIEF-2026 brought together more than 20,000 participants from 130 countries, including government representatives, investors, business leaders, financial institutions, scientists and industry experts, providing a platform for discussions on global economic trends and international cooperation.

On the sidelines of the forum, Minister Abdurahmonzoda held talks with Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov. The two officials reviewed progress in implementing agreements and directives issued by the leaders of Tajikistan and Russia during the Russian president’s recent state visit to Tajikistan.

The discussions focused on measures to expand bilateral trade, with particular attention given to increasing exports of Tajik agricultural products to the Russian market. Among the products highlighted were fresh and dried fruits and vegetables, including grapes.

Officials noted that enhanced trade cooperation, along with improvements in product quality standards and logistics, would help diversify Tajikistan’s export portfolio, strengthen agricultural supply chains and contribute to sustainable economic growth.

The participation of the Tajik delegation in SPIEF-2026 reflects the country’s continued commitment to deepening economic ties with key international partners and exploring new opportunities for trade and investment.
