Agadir, June 30, 2026 – The Europe Today: Oracle has inaugurated its second research and development (R&D) center in Morocco, reinforcing the country’s ambition to become a regional hub for artificial intelligence, cloud computing and digital innovation.

The inauguration ceremony in Agadir was attended by Moroccan Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch, Minister Delegate for Digital Transition Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister Delegate for Investment Karim Zidane, Duke Buchan III, Wali of Souss-Massa Saaid Amzazi, and Oracle Executive Vice President Simon de Montfort Walker.

Speaking at the event, Akhannouch said the new facility is Oracle’s second R&D center in Morocco after its Casablanca center and represents another milestone in strengthening the country’s digital economy.

He said the project supports Morocco’s ambition to become a leading center for digital innovation in line with the vision of King Mohammed VI and the objectives of the Morocco Digital 2030 strategy.

“This project marks another step toward strengthening Morocco’s position as a leading hub for digital innovation, in line with the wise vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and fully aligns with the objectives of the Morocco Digital 2030 strategy,” Akhannouch said.

He added that the investment is expected to contribute to job creation in Morocco’s digital sector, which currently employs more than 148,500 people, the majority of them young and highly skilled professionals.

According to Akhannouch, the project also reflects growing confidence among international investors in Morocco as a destination for advanced information technologies while supporting the expansion of modern digital infrastructure across the country’s regions.

The new Agadir facility expands Oracle’s presence in Morocco and will focus on developing technologies in several strategic areas, including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), artificial intelligence-powered applications, data platforms and industry-specific digital solutions.

As one of the world’s leading cloud technology providers, Oracle continues to invest in sovereign cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence innovation, advanced research and development, and talent development, further strengthening Morocco’s position as an emerging regional technology and innovation hub.
