Dushanbe, June 30, 2026 – The Europe Today: A complete collection of official FIFA World Cup match balls used from 1970 to 2026 has been donated to the National Museum of Tajikistan on the instructions of President Emomali Rahmon, the museum announced.
According to the National Museum, the collection was originally presented to President Rahmon by the Tajikistan Football Federation during the inauguration of the federation’s Technical Center.
The historically significant collection has now been transferred to the National Museum, where it has been placed on public display in a special exhibition area within the hall dedicated to gifts presented to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. The exhibit has been arranged in accordance with museum preservation standards.
The collection features the official match balls used in every FIFA World Cup tournament from 1970 through 2026, illustrating more than five decades of technological and design evolution in world football.
Since the 1970 FIFA World Cup, Adidas has served as the official supplier of match balls for the tournament. The collection reflects the continuous advancement of football technology, materials and design that has shaped the modern game over the past half century.
Museum officials described the collection as a valuable addition to the country’s cultural and sporting heritage, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to trace the evolution of one of football’s most iconic symbols.
