Ashgabat, September 21, 2026 – The Europe Today: The 27th Conference of the Humanitarian Association of Turkmen of the World was held at the Center of Public Organizations of Turkmenistan, bringing together representatives of Turkmen communities from different countries to discuss cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Prior to the conference, participants laid flowers at the Monument of Independence. They then visited an exhibition organized at the Center of Public Organizations before the official opening of the forum.
The conference began with the national anthem of Turkmenistan, followed by the reading of an address by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the participants.
The delegates unanimously approved the conference agenda, which included a report on the association’s activities and discussions on priority areas for further developing cultural and humanitarian cooperation among Turkmen communities worldwide.
During the meeting, participants delivered presentations on the issues included on the agenda. Delegates were also briefed on the country’s ongoing socio-economic programmes aimed at improving the well-being of the population, strengthening Turkmenistan’s international standing, and advancing international projects designed to expand cooperation with foreign countries.
Particular attention was given to activities being held in 2026 under the theme “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses.” In this context, participants noted that, pursuant to a resolution of the President of Turkmenistan, a programme of horse-breeding and equestrian sports events scheduled for 2026 had been approved, covering activities both inside Turkmenistan and abroad.
Representatives of Turkmen communities living abroad expressed their gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan and President of the Humanitarian Association of Turkmen of the World, for the opportunity to visit their ancestral homeland and witness the country’s ongoing development and transformation.
Representatives of the association’s branches in the United Arab Emirates, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Germany and Iran highlighted the activities of their respective branches. They emphasized what they described as Turkmenistan’s efforts to strengthen traditional bonds of friendship, mutual respect, good-neighbourly relations and international cooperation across various fields.
The participants also underscored the importance of the conference in strengthening fraternal relations and solidarity among Turkmen communities abroad, while promoting cooperation in the interests of peace, prosperity and progress.
A ceremony was subsequently held to present certificates of honour to members of the Humanitarian Association of Turkmen of the World.
At the conclusion of the conference, participants adopted an address to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Following the announcement of the closure of the 27th Conference, the national anthem of Turkmenistan was performed.
The event concluded with a concert by Turkmen artists dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence. The programme featured musical works celebrating independent Turkmenistan, its ancient and enduring homeland, and the hardworking and talented people of the country.
