Baku, November 2, 2026 – The Europe Today: Two artistic projects exploring Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage and the relationship between humanity and wildlife were presented at the Stone Chronicle Museum in Baku on November 1.
The projects, titled “Ancient Stone, Modern Memory” by artist and sculptor Orkhan Nabizada and “Radius of Responsibility” by Elvin Nabizada, were unveiled at an event attended by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation; Arzu Aliyeva, Head of the Baku Media Center; and Alena Aliyeva.
Inspired by the ancient petroglyphs of Gobustan, the “Ancient Stone, Modern Memory” project showcases artistic depictions of several important representatives of Azerbaijan’s wildlife, including the Caucasian leopard, gazelle, grey wolf, brown bear and golden eagle.
The project draws inspiration from the historical rock carvings of Gobustan, connecting the country’s ancient artistic traditions with contemporary sculptural expression.
Meanwhile, Elvin Nabizada’s “Radius of Responsibility” project explores the relationship between humans and wildlife through an interactive artistic approach, encouraging reflection on humanity’s responsibilities towards the natural world.
Both projects highlight the importance of preserving cultural heritage, protecting biodiversity and strengthening public awareness of the relationship between people and nature.
The presentation reflects the growing contribution of contemporary Azerbaijani artists to cultural dialogue and environmental awareness, bringing together historical inspiration, modern creativity and ecological themes.
