UNGCNT Partners with National Science Museum to Promote Sustainable Development Among Thai Youth

Bangkok, August 22, 2024, The Europe Today: The UN Global Compact Network Thailand (UNGCNT) has entered into a strategic partnership with the National Science Museum (NSM) to advance science, technology, and sustainable development awareness among Thai children. The collaboration was formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed yesterday by both parties.

NSM Director Rawin Rawiwong highlighted the key objectives of the MoU, which include promoting public awareness and understanding of science, technology, and sustainable development. The agreement also outlines plans for exchange programs, the sharing of information and best practices in science and technology, and various collaborative activities over the next three years.

“This collaboration aims to inspire and enhance experiences for Thai youth through engaging activities and exhibitions, especially in presenting the concept of sustainability,” said Mr. Rawiwong.

Suphachai Chearavanont, Chairman of UNGCNT and CEO of Charoen Pokphand Group, emphasized the role of youth as powerful advocates for change. He noted that the MoU represents an important roadmap for expanding knowledge and understanding in science and technology, preparing the nation for economic transitions, and ensuring inclusive progress.

UNGCNT will continue to support education reform initiatives to empower Thai youth in driving sustainability efforts, according to Mr. Suphachai.

As part of this ongoing effort, UNGCNT, in collaboration with 27 member organizations and eight UN agencies, is hosting “The Globe Vengers” exhibition at the National Science and Technology Fair 2024. The event, taking place at the Impact Exhibition and Convention Centre in Nonthaburi until Sunday, showcases innovations in sustainable technology across sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, food, automobiles, and transport, contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals by 2030.
