Khujand, September 09, 2024, The Europe Today: A delegation from Kyrgyzstan, led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov, arrived in Khujand upon the invitation of Tajik authorities to partake in the celebrations of Tajikistan’s Independence Day, according to a report from the Cabinet’s press service.
During his visit, Deputy Chairman Baisalov met with Vice Prime Minister of Tajikistan Ziyozoda Sulaimon Rizoi. Baisalov conveyed greetings and heartfelt congratulations from Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov to Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, extending best wishes for the occasion.
In his address, Baisalov extended his own congratulations to Rizoi and the people of Tajikistan on their Independence Day. Discussions between the two officials focused on enhancing cooperation across various domains, including trade, economic development, culture, and humanitarian efforts.
Both parties expressed optimism that the ongoing talks on the delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border would pave the way for strengthened bilateral cooperation. They reaffirmed the historical peaceful relations between the Kyrgyz and Tajik peoples, expressing hope that future collaboration will be built upon their longstanding friendship.
