Rome, April 27, 2025 – The Europe Today: British Prime Minister Keir Starmer met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Rome on Saturday afternoon, a Downing Street spokesperson confirmed, according to media reports.
During their meeting, the two leaders discussed ongoing efforts to achieve a lasting peace in Ukraine. They agreed to remain in close contact and to speak again at the earliest opportunity, the spokesperson added.
The meeting also underscored Britain’s commitment to playing a leading role in the “coalition of the willing,” a post-conflict initiative announced last month during a summit in London. The coalition aims to coordinate international support for Ukraine’s reconstruction and security following the resolution of the conflict.
