Ashgabat, December 12, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived in the Turkmen capital on Thursday to participate in the International Forum of Peace and Trust, an event marking the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and the United Nations’ designation of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust.
According to Turkmenistan’s official media, President Erdoğan was welcomed at Ashgabat International Airport by senior Turkmen officials.
During his visit, the Turkish president is expected to hold bilateral meetings with Turkmen leaders as well as with other heads of state and government attending the high-level forum.
Ahead of Erdoğan’s arrival, Ashgabat had already welcomed President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan, President of the Republic of Iraq Abdul Latif Rashid, and President of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe Carlos Manuel Vila Nova, who are also participating in the event.
