Hanoi, July 27, 2026 – The Europe Today: General Secretary of the Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPV) Central Committee and State President Tô Lâm on Sunday sent a congratulatory message to Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of Cuba, on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the attack on the Moncada Barracks (July 26, 1953 – July 26, 2026).
The message commemorated one of the most significant milestones in Cuba’s revolutionary history, marking the anniversary of the Moncada Barracks attack, which is widely regarded as the beginning of the Cuban Revolution.
On the same occasion, Vietnamese Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng extended his congratulations to Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, reaffirming the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
National Assembly Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn also sent a congratulatory message to Esteban Lazo Hernández, President of the National Assembly of People’s Power of Cuba, conveying best wishes on the historic anniversary.
The exchange of congratulatory messages reflects the close and enduring relationship between Việt Nam and Cuba, underpinned by decades of political solidarity, mutual support, and comprehensive cooperation across a wide range of sectors.
