Hanoi, August 28, 2026 – The Europe Today: A high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Việtnam (CPV) Central Committee, the State, the National Assembly and the Government on Friday paid tribute to President Hồ Chí Minh at his Mausoleum in Hànội on the occasion of the country’s 81st National Day, celebrated on September 2.
The delegation included Politburo members, including CPV General Secretary and President Tô Lâm, Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng, National Assembly Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn and Permanent Member of the CPV Central Committee’s Secretariat Trần Cẩm Tú, along with incumbent and former Party and State leaders.
Members of the delegation laid a wreath and observed a solemn tribute to President Hồ Chí Minh, expressing profound gratitude for his historic contributions to Việt Nam’s revolutionary cause and national independence.
The delegation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front also laid a wreath and paid tribute to the late president at his Mausoleum.
The delegates recalled Hồ Chí Minh’s lifelong dedication to the Vietnamese people and the nation, as well as his leadership in guiding the Party and Vietnamese people through major revolutionary victories.
On September 2, 1945, at Ba Đình Square, President Hồ Chí Minh read the Declaration of Independence, proclaiming the birth of the Democratic Republic of Việt Nam, now the Socialist Republic of Việt Nam. In the declaration, he affirmed Việt Nam’s right to freedom and independence and the determination of its people to safeguard those rights.
The Vietnamese Party, State, military and people continue to uphold the path established by President Hồ Chí Minh and apply his thought in accordance with the country’s current conditions, with the aim of advancing national development and strengthening Việt Nam’s position internationally.
Following the ceremony at the Mausoleum, the delegations offered incense and paid tribute to fallen heroes and martyrs at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs on Bắc Sơn Street in Hànội.
Also on Friday morning, delegations from the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence, the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, as well as the Hànội Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, laid wreaths at President Hồ Chí Minh’s Mausoleum and offered incense in remembrance of fallen heroes and martyrs.
The commemorative activities formed part of the national observances marking the 81st anniversary of Việtnam’s National Day.
