The 46-year-old Belgrade native, in his third season with the Warriors, played a crucial role in the team’s 2022 NBA championship victory.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr expressed profound sorrow, stating, “We are absolutely devastated by Dejan’s sudden passing. In response to the tragedy, the NBA announced the postponement of the Warriors’ scheduled game against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday, citing a “medical emergency in the Warriors family.” A makeup date for the postponed game will be announced in due course.
