Rome, May 29, 2024, The Europe Today: Bakhtiyor Saidov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, facilitated a roundtable discussion in Rome yesterday, bringing together representatives from approximately 30 leading Italian companies. The discussion aimed to explore and enhance economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy across various sectors.
“Today we held a roundtable discussion in Rome with the participation of about 30 Italian companies,” Saidov shared on his Telegram channel. “We had a sincere conversation with leading companies about the prospect of joint projects in energy, textile, transport, information technologies, engineering, and other fields. It was emphasized that there is a huge potential for economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy, especially the importance of establishing B2B dialogues. We are grateful to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Mrs. Maria Tripodi, for her full support.”
The roundtable highlighted the significant potential for collaboration in key industries, emphasizing the importance of fostering direct business-to-business (B2B) interactions to drive mutual growth and innovation.
The Uzbek delegation, led by Minister Saidov, is visiting Rome from May 28-29. The visit includes participation in the third ministerial conference in the “Italy-Central Asia” format and several bilateral negotiations aimed at strengthening ties and exploring new avenues for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy.
