Tokyo, October 13, 2024 – The Europe Today: A unique event highlighting Uzbekistan’s rich tourist attractions is currently taking place at Tokyo’s iconic Shibuya Crossing, one of the busiest pedestrian areas in the world. The largest video monitor in Japan, equivalent to the size of a basketball court, is featuring a captivating video titled “Uzbekistan – the Crossroads of Civilizations.” This presentation showcases the historical treasures of Uzbekistan, including the renowned cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and Shakhrisabz.
Shibuya Crossing, famous for its bustling atmosphere, attracts over 3,000 pedestrians daily, with approximately 2.5 million visitors flocking to the area on weekends. Located adjacent to the crossing is the statue of Hachiko, the beloved dog, along with one of Japan’s largest train stations, which sees around 5 million passengers daily.
As part of the event, an engaging flash mob was performed featuring talented artists and dancers from the Khorezm region. The lively performances included traditional Uzbek songs and dances, captivating the audience and drawing in curious onlookers. Additionally, tourist guides to Uzbekistan were distributed in Japanese among passers-by, enhancing the cultural exchange.
