Brunei’s Minister of Religious Affairs Welcomes Secretary of National Commission on Muslim Filipinos for Bilateral Talks

Bandar Seri Begawan, October 26, 2024 – The Europe Today: Brunei’s Minister of Religious Affairs, Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, welcomed Secretary Sabuddin N Abdurahim from the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) on Thursday in a courtesy call aimed at enhancing religious cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the Philippines.

The NCMF delegation’s visit coincided with the Zakat Framework Workshop held on October 24 and 25, bringing together stakeholders to discuss initiatives in Islamic finance and community welfare. The courtesy call provided an opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations and exchange insights on Islamic services, focusing on the welfare of the ummah, Islamic education, haj management, religious scholarships, the halal industry, and zakat and waqaf development.

Present at the meeting was Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, emphasizing Brunei’s commitment to sharing knowledge and experiences in fostering Islamic development and cooperation with the Philippines.
