Turkmen Envoy and Pakistani Minister Discuss Energy Cooperation, TAPI Pipeline Progress

Islamabad, November 21, 2024 – The Europe Today: On November 21, 2024, Turkmen Ambassador Atajan Movlamov met with Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Petroleum, Musadiq Malik, to discuss progress on the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project. This strategic initiative aims to address the energy demands of the South Asian region, according to the Pakistani Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

During the meeting, the Turkmen side extended an invitation to Minister Malik to visit Turkmenistan for further dialogue on energy collaboration. Minister Malik expressed his appreciation for the gesture and commended Turkmenistan’s dedication to advancing the TAPI project.

Ambassador Movlamov highlighted Pakistan’s recent economic achievements under the leadership of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, noting the increasing interest of international investors in the country.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to bolstering bilateral ties, particularly in energy, trade, and investment sectors. The TAPI pipeline remains a cornerstone of regional cooperation, promising to strengthen economic interdependence and energy security across participating nations.

The meeting underscores the shared vision of Turkmenistan and Pakistan for enhancing regional connectivity and economic growth.
