Ashgabat, November 30, 2024 – The Europe Today: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan, Mr. Ravshanbek Alimov, has arrived in Ashgabat to officially begin his diplomatic mission. The 58-year-old diplomat brings extensive international experience, having served in Ukraine, Moldova, France, and Portugal, as reported by gazeta.uz.
Alimov, a graduate of Bauman Moscow Technical University, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Uzbekistan, and Georgetown University, previously held the position of Chairman of the International Relations Committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis. Fluent in four languages — English, French, Russian, and Ukrainian — he succeeds Akmal Kuchkarov as Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Turkmenistan. Kuchkarov served from 2016 to 2024.
Ambassador Alimov’s arrival marks a new chapter in strengthening the bilateral ties between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
