Kyiv, January 16, 2025 – The Europe Today: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer signed a landmark “100 Year Partnership” agreement on Thursday, aimed at deepening defence cooperation and addressing long-term maritime security challenges.
The agreement, signed during Starmer’s first visit to Kyiv since taking office, was hailed as a historic milestone in bilateral relations. “Today is a truly historic day. Relations between Ukraine and the UK are closer than ever,” President Zelenskyy said, as quoted by state news agency Ukrinform. He described the agreement as “more than a strategic relationship,” emphasizing its transformative nature.
The partnership framework, published by Ukraine’s Presidential Office, outlines plans to enhance collaboration in defence and security while addressing evolving threats to maritime stability. It also highlights expanded cooperation in economics, trade, energy, and the transition to clean energy as key priorities.
