Rawalpindi, February 5, 2025 – The Europe Today: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir, while chairing the 267th Corps Commanders’ Conference at the GHQ on Tuesday, strongly condemned recent reckless statements by the Indian military, terming them a sign of frustration aimed at diverting attention from India’s internal crises and human rights violations.
General Munir emphasized that the Pakistan Army remains fully prepared to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He reiterated that any misadventure against Pakistan would be met with the full and resolute force of the state.
The forum also reviewed regional security, expressing grave concern over the continued use of Afghan territory by Fitna Al Khwarij for terrorist activities against Pakistan. It urged the interim Afghan government to take decisive action against these elements instead of issuing denials.
Regarding Balochistan, the forum stressed the need to accelerate socio-economic development projects to counter externally driven narratives of exclusion. The military leadership reaffirmed that no one would be allowed to disrupt peace in Balochistan and that foreign-backed proxies attempting to mislead and radicalize the youth would be decisively thwarted with the unwavering support of the people.
The commanders paid tribute to the armed forces, law enforcement personnel, and citizens who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s stability. They also assessed the security situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and the Working Boundary.
In solidarity with Kashmiris on Kashmir Solidarity Day, the forum condemned India’s ongoing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination under UN resolutions.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during a federal cabinet meeting, criticized past policies that led to the release of thousands of terrorists, stating that the nation’s security forces were now bearing the consequences. During his visit to Quetta, he met with security personnel injured in an anti-terror operation in Kalat, in which 18 security personnel were martyred and 23 terrorists were killed.
