Baku, March 4, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Nail Maganov, General Director of Russia’s “Tatneft,” Askhat Khassenov, Chairman of the Management Board of Kazakhstan’s “KazMunayGas,” and Bakhodirjon Sidikov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan’s “Uzbekneftegaz,” to discuss a new stage of multilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
President Aliyev emphasized that preparations for this enhanced collaboration had been successfully carried out, marking the beginning of a new phase in relations between the participating nations. He praised the strong production ties already established among the oil companies of Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, noting the successful implementation of multiple bilateral projects. The President underscored the importance of aligning efforts to foster greater synergy in the sector.
Highlighting the significance of quadrilateral cooperation, President Aliyev stressed the strategic value of joint production initiatives and fulfilling energy-related orders for partner nations. The meeting underscored the necessity of strengthening coordination and advancing shared objectives within the oil and gas industry.
Discussions focused on the future prospects of the newly established cooperation framework, with all parties expressing confidence in its potential to deepen economic ties between the four countries. As part of this initiative, the companies plan to collaborate on key areas, including emergency mitigation and joint response teams, the development of digital technologies and software solutions, optimization of procurement processes, and industrial sector growth.
Additionally, the participants noted that the new cooperation format remains open for other foreign companies seeking to contribute to the collective advancement of the energy sector.
