Astana, March 13, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Presight, to discuss further strengthening cooperation in high-performance computing, digital transformation, and the implementation of advanced technologies, media reported.
During the meeting, President Tokayev emphasized the significance of developing Kazakhstan’s digital infrastructure and underscored the strategic importance of establishing a supercomputer cluster in the country.
Thomas Pramotedham briefed the President on the progress of the project and discussed plans for the localization of technologies, highlighting the involvement of Kazakhstani companies in joint initiatives. The CEO of Presight commended the expertise of domestic IT firms and reaffirmed his company’s commitment to a long-term partnership with them.
The discussions also covered the Smart City project, which is being developed in collaboration with the Astana Mayor’s Office. President Tokayev expressed his support for the integration of artificial intelligence solutions into urban infrastructure management and highlighted the establishment of a situation center at the AlemAi International AI Center. The center aims to enhance the efficiency of municipal services through data-driven decision-making.
The Head of State reiterated Kazakhstan’s commitment to continuing cooperation on key digital transformation initiatives and the technological advancement of the country.
In a separate development, President Tokayev held a phone conversation with Finnish President Alexander Stubb on Wednesday evening. The leaders discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation, reaffirming their mutual commitment to expanding trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties.
Both sides expressed a shared interest in strengthening collaboration across various sectors, reinforcing the long-standing partnership between Kazakhstan and Finland.
