Baku, June 2, 2026 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held talks with a United States delegation led by Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs Caleb Orr on June 1, focusing on the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations and cooperation across key sectors.
According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the discussions covered a broad range of issues, including economic cooperation, energy security, transport and communications, investment, trade, and other matters of mutual interest on the regional agenda.
Both sides underscored the importance of strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation under the framework of the Azerbaijan–U.S. Charter on Strategic Partnership. They highlighted the significance of the inaugural session of the Azerbaijan–U.S. Economic Dialogue as an important mechanism for advancing bilateral ties.
The officials reviewed the long-standing partnership between the two countries in the energy sector and its contribution to regional and international energy security. They also discussed opportunities for collaboration in renewable energy, the green transition, innovation, and high-technology industries.
During the meeting, Bayramov outlined Azerbaijan’s favorable investment environment, regional connectivity initiatives, and efforts to develop international transport corridors. He emphasized the growing strategic importance of the Middle Corridor and its role in promoting regional economic integration and trade.
The talks further addressed the current regional situation and the progress achieved following the historic agreements reached during the Washington summit in August last year. Discussions also focused on the opening of communication links and the implementation of the TRIPP project.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on a range of other issues of shared interest, reflecting the continued commitment of both countries to expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.
