Tajik Envoy Visits COTHM, Discusses Educational and Tourism Cooperation with Pakistan

Islamabad, June 16, 2026 – The Europe Today: Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Pakistan, H.E. Yusuf Sharifzoda, visited the College of Tourism and Hotel Management (COTHM) on June 12, where he was briefed on the institution’s academic programs, training activities, and contributions to human resource development in the tourism and hospitality sectors.

During the visit, the Ambassador received a comprehensive overview of the college’s educational initiatives and its capacity to train skilled professionals in tourism, hospitality, and hotel management. He also reviewed the institution’s achievements in developing qualified human resources for the industry.

Ambassador Sharifzoda held a meeting with the leadership of COTHM to discuss prospects for enhancing bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan, particularly in the fields of education and professional training. The discussions focused on preparing highly qualified specialists for the tourism and hospitality sectors, promoting exchanges between educational institutions of the two countries, and effectively utilizing existing opportunities to strengthen collaboration.

The two sides underscored the significance of tourism as a key area of economic and cultural cooperation and expressed their readiness to expand contacts and launch joint initiatives aimed at fostering closer ties.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties expressed confidence that cooperation in the fields of education and tourism would continue to grow, contributing to stronger people-to-people connections and further strengthening the friendly relations between Tajikistan and Pakistan.
