Turkmen Deputy Foreign Minister Attends Preparatory Meeting for First Central Asia–Republic of Korea Summit

Tashkent, June 17, 2026 – The Europe Today: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov participated in the second meeting of senior officials dedicated to preparations for the First Summit of Heads of State of the Central Asia–Republic of Korea format, held in Tashkent on June 16.

The meeting brought together representatives from the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and the Republic of Korea to review progress toward the landmark summit aimed at enhancing regional cooperation.

During the discussions, participants assessed the current status of preparations for the upcoming summit, examined draft outcome documents, and exchanged views on key priorities for the event.

The officials also emphasized the importance of further strengthening multifaceted cooperation between the Central Asian countries and South Korea, highlighting opportunities for deeper collaboration in political, economic, and other mutually beneficial fields.

The meeting underscored the shared commitment of all participating countries to advancing the Central Asia–Republic of Korea partnership and ensuring the successful organization of the inaugural leaders’ summit.
