Türkiye Urges Citizens to Leave Lebanon Amid Middle East Security Crisis

Ankara, August 05, 2024, The Europe Today: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye has issued an urgent advisory for Turkish citizens residing in Lebanon, calling on them to leave the country as soon as possible due to escalating tensions and the growing security crisis in the Middle East.

The advisory was disseminated via the Ministry’s official “X” social media account, as reported by the NHC.

“Our citizens are advised to avoid traveling to Lebanon, to be careful and not to travel unnecessarily to the provinces of Nabatiyah, South Lebanon, Bekaa, and Baalbek-Germel. For those who do not need to stay in Lebanon, we urge them to leave the country when commercial flights are being carried out,” the statement read.

The Ministry’s directive underscores the heightened risks in specific regions and advises caution to those whose presence in Lebanon is not essential. The situation continues to be monitored closely, with further updates expected as conditions evolve.
