Astana, October 14, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has extended his congratulations to U.S. President Donald Trump on his remarkable diplomatic achievement in securing long-awaited peace in the Gaza Strip, the Akorda press service reported.
In his message, President Tokayev commended President Trump for demonstrating strong political will and a genuine commitment to establishing peace and harmony among nations. He described the agreement as a historic milestone toward ending years of conflict and instability in the region.
“President Donald Trump has fully demonstrated his determination and sincere desire to promote peace and mutual understanding between peoples,” the Kazakh leader said.
As previously reported, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) received a second group of 13 Israeli captives in the Gaza Strip as part of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, which took effect at 12:00 noon local time (0900 GMT) on October 10. Earlier the same day, Hamas handed over seven Israeli captives to the ICRC.
The exchanges form part of the initial implementation of the Gaza Peace Agreement, signed during the Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit, marking a critical step toward sustaining the ceasefire and advancing humanitarian efforts in the region.
