Ashgabat, January 31, 2026 — The Europe Today: Turkmenistan has expressed interest in organizing specialized business missions to the Republic of Belarus to explore opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation in transportation, information technology and light industry, according to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
The proposal was announced by Mergen Gurdov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan (CCIT), during a meeting with Belarusian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Stanislav Chepurny held on Thursday in Ashgabat.
During the talks, the two sides reviewed the current state of trade and economic cooperation and discussed prospects for its further development. Particular attention was paid to encouraging Belarusian entrepreneurs to participate in the international exhibition Agro Pack Turkmenistan-2026, which is scheduled to take place in Ashgabat from May 12 to 14, 2026, the CCIT said.
The meeting also addressed the potential participation of Turkmen companies in the Belagro-2026 agro-industrial exhibition, to be held in Minsk from June 2 to 6, 2026. The possibility of Turkmenistan presenting its own national pavilion at the event was also discussed.
Both sides подчеркнули the important role of international exhibitions in strengthening business ties, fostering new partnerships and increasing bilateral trade volumes. They expressed readiness to continue close cooperation in organizing and promoting joint participation in major international trade and exhibition events.
Earlier, the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Turkmenistan presented an expanded schedule of congresses and exhibitions planned to be held in 2026, aimed at further enhancing bilateral economic engagement.
