Solo, November 13, 2024 – The Europe Today: Italy is raising awareness among Indonesian textile industry players about the significance of environmental preservation through a workshop promoting advanced and eco-friendly Italian textile technology. Held in Solo on Tuesday, the workshop was led by Marco Salvade, President of the Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association (ACIMIT). The event aimed to underscore the need for the textile industry to evolve in response to society’s growing and changing demands while maintaining respect for the environment and human dignity.
In his address, Salvade commended Indonesia’s rapid progress and growing public awareness regarding environmental protection within the textile sector. He highlighted Italy’s commitment to fostering a more sustainable industry by sharing advanced technologies that reduce energy consumption, minimize pollution, and support a cleaner environment.
“What we are doing now is to try to improve the technology to reduce consumption, energy consumption, and, of course, the pollution,” Salvade stated, emphasizing that reducing energy use not only lowers operational costs but also contributes to creating a cleaner world.
The workshop, organized in collaboration between the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and ACIMIT, seeks to deepen the environmental awareness of Indonesian textile industry players. It serves as a platform for exchanging insights and promoting Italian innovations designed to boost productivity and environmental sustainability.
The initiative will also be held in Bandung, West Java, on November 14, with 17 Italian textile manufacturers participating. These companies specialize in areas such as textile finishing, dyeing, non-woven textiles, spinning, weaving, knitting, and textile laboratories. Their technologies offer solutions to increase productivity while preserving the environment.
The workshops are expected to provide Indonesian textile industry professionals with the latest knowledge on digitalization, the Internet of Things (IoT), and sustainable practices within the textile sector. This collaboration reflects a shared vision for a cleaner, more sustainable future in textile production.
