New York, November 30, 2024 – The Europe Today: The governments of Tajikistan and the Maldives have officially signed an agreement on the mutual exemption of visa requirements. The signing ceremony took place in New York on November 26, 2024, as reported by the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Jonibek Hikmat, the Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the United Nations, and Mr. Ali Naseer Mohamed, the Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the United Nations.
Under the terms of the agreement, citizens of both countries will be exempt from visa requirements when entering, exiting, transiting through, or temporarily staying in the other country, with the condition that their stay does not exceed 30 days.
This agreement, concluded for an indefinite period, will come into effect 30 days after both parties complete their domestic procedures necessary for its implementation.
