Islamabad, October 16, 2024 – The Europe Today: Chinese Premier Li Qiang expressed China’s commitment to advancing high-quality Belt and Road cooperation with Tajikistan during a meeting with Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda on the sidelines of the 23rd Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on Tuesday.
Premier Li emphasized China’s readiness to collaborate with Tajikistan across various sectors, including trade, investment, mining, and agriculture, as well as emerging industries such as new energy and the digital economy. He stressed the importance of aligning development strategies between the two nations to drive common growth and deepen bilateral ties.
The Premier highlighted the need to expand partnerships in emerging industries and promote connectivity, while also strengthening cultural, educational, and tourism exchanges. He underscored the significance of implementing the outcomes of the first China-Central Asia Summit and advancing multilateral cooperation through initiatives like the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative. Li reiterated China’s commitment to promoting a fair, multipolar world and inclusive economic globalization.
Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda congratulated China on its remarkable achievements over the past 75 years and thanked China for its longstanding support of Tajikistan’s development. He affirmed Tajikistan’s commitment to furthering Belt and Road cooperation and deepening collaboration in key areas such as e-commerce, energy, industry, and transportation, as well as in emerging fields like the digital and green economies.
Rasulzoda also emphasized the importance of enhancing people-to-people and cultural exchanges and reiterated Tajikistan’s support for China’s vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind. He expressed eagerness to collaborate closely with China to uphold regional and global peace, stability, and development, while advancing cooperation within the frameworks of the United Nations and the SCO.
This meeting underscores the deepening partnership between China and Tajikistan as both countries look to strengthen their economic, political, and cultural ties, driving mutual development forward.
